п»їA lot of individuals start a fitness program with the dream of a flatter stomach and tighter abdominals. A good looking midsection is the epitome of a healthy fit body. When you have that sleek midsection, you're more confident, it feels great and you look your best. All are worthy fitness goals, but require a worthy effort to achieve. Unfortunately, most people drop out soon after starting with no results and more dejected than before - falling victim to unrealistic expectations and lack of information. The familiar problem stems from not really knowing how to go about attaining the goal, what is required beyond area targeted exercises, and that abdominal exercises actually play a minor role in achieving the kind of body they want. If a flatter stomach and tighter abs interests you, consider some of these tips on how to truly go about it. These tips are going to save you time and help you get a lot better results. #1 - Ease Into It. When first starting out, one the most imperative points to remember is to ease into the training and not wear oneself out. If you find the exercises too challenging or even worse, injury yourself when just staring out, you significantly increase the strong possibility of holding off or quitting your new exercise regimen entirely. Make an effort to get going with simple exercises, then once those are mastered, cautiously progress to more advanced exercises and longer workouts. Progress the difficulty level a bit at a time as you increasingly build endurance and strength. #2 - Start With Some Cardio. Primarily, it's essential to note you can't do an inordinate amount of targeted abdominal exercises expecting your body to all of a sudden drop fat off your midsection. It will be vital to perform fat burning activities for the entire body since your individual genetics will specify where and at what pace the fat will come off. It's imperative to include Aerobic exercises such as jogging, swimming, cycling or even walking into your exercise program since they are a beneficial entry level activity to start the calorie burning process. Most recreational athletes are comfortable with at least one or two cardio activities and these activities should be a foundation of any well-rounded fitness program. #3 - Bring On The Metabolic. Once you're comfy with the cardio activities, it's time to get a little more advanced and add some metabolic or interval training such as circuit workouts, boot camp classes or suspension training. These workouts are meant to be performed at higher intensities for shorter periods, so you can increase your cardiovascular efficiency, ramp up your metabolic rate and burn more calories. Metabolic training is very effective because it works large muscle groups at 70% capacity and more and ultimately keeps your body out of it's comfort zone. These types of workouts can and should be tough. If you're doing more than two or three metabolic training sessions per week, you may be over doing it. #4 - Now Tone Those Abs. Once you're well-fixed with the calorie burning component of your new abdominal program, it's time to set out to the next step. It's time to integrate some isolated ab movements to tone the abdominal muscles. Isolating ab muscles means sole use of the ab muscles in the exercise movement while the application of other supporting muscles is minimized. In this case, form is vitally important when you do your ab exercises. You should feel the abdominal muscles contracting with every repetition. If you don't feel the contraction, then you need to adapt your technique because you probably haven't isolated the abs sufficiently. Again since it's tremendously important, abdominal exercises must be performed carefully with focused concentration on good technique. Next, correct breathing is another commonly overlooked factor that is fundamental when performing abdominal exercises. Holding ones breath is a regular error many people make. Straining and temporarily elevated blood pressure is a direct consequence of holding one's breath during exercise. Your breathing should work alongside the slow deliberate movements of your ab exercises. Breathing out during the contraction will further contract the muscle and make the movement more effective. Inhale during the lowering phase of the exercise while keeping constant tension on the abs. The lowering phase should be slow and deliberate just like the lifting phase. #5 - Variety Increases Success. Finally, employing a variety of exercises and keeping your routine fresh is a huge advantage to any fitness program. A variety of exercises alleviates boredom, maintains motivation, and keeps things fresh and fun. When it comes to isolation exercises, performing a variety of movements allows you to work the abdominals from different angles and hit all regions. One of the best pieces of exercise equipment that is excellent for both variety and motivation are body weight based suspension trainers. He goes to approach the girl...looks her up and down, like a hungry jackal eyeballing a slab of meat...and delivers a cheesy pick up line that causes her to roll her eyes (or throw her martini in his face). I'm referring to pick up lines like these... "I sure hope you know CPR, because you're taking my breath away." "Can I borrow a quarter? [What for?] I want to call my mom and tell her I just met the woman of my dreams." "Hey, can I borrow a map? Because I keep on getting lost in your eyes." "Are you religious? Cause you are the answers to all my prayers." "Sorry lady, but you owe me a drink. [Why?] Because when I looked at you, I dropped mine." "Hello. Cupid called. He says to tell you that he needs my heart back." "I play the field, and it looks like I just hit a home run with you." "Your legs must be tired because you've been running through my mind all night." "Is there an airport nearby or is that just my heart taking off?" "I was so mesmerized by your beauty that I ran into that wall over there...I'm going to need your name and number for insurance purposes." Now, not all pick up lines are THAT cheesy. I'll give you a few examples of pickup lines that I've successfully used to approach women. The key is to follow them up with something more clever (I'll give you some of these "transitions" in a minute). "Would you touch me so I can tell my friends I've been touched by an angel?" "Can you pull this heart-shaped arrow out of my back, because a little kid with wings just shot me." "Your daddy must have been a baker, because you've got a nice set of buns." "If a thousand painters worked for a thousand years, they could not create a work of art as beautiful as you." (You shouldn't use this pick up line on girls who are very hot and KNOW it. This line is more effective when you approach women who appear to be a bit shy and don't have a stuck-up attitude.) And then, there's another category of pick up lines some guys use when they approach women. You can call these ones... Pick Up Lines That Might Get You Kicked In The Balls You'll want to be extremely cautious when using the following lines when you approach women. A woman with a sense of humor might find them amusing, but you also run the risk of getting hit or having a martini tossed in your face. (Especially if her boyfriend the UFC fighter happens to be standing nearby.) Like I said, be careful... "Do you know what has 142 teeth and holds back the Incredible Hulk? [What?] My zipper." "Your daddy must play the trumpet, because he sure made me horny!" "That's a nice set of legs, what time do they open?" The Truth About Pick Up Lines But are all pick up lines only good for a laugh? Would any REAL pick up artist deign to use them? I've written several popular books on how to pick up women, which teach many different resourceful approaches to starting conversations with girls. And personally, I think pick up lines are usually way too obvious. I typically suggest that you use the "under the radar" style of opening conversations. This means you use a clever, unexpected comment or question to catch her interest and engage her in the interaction without telegraphing that you like her. Essentially, you're "breaking the ice" in a way that feels fun and non-threatening. I like to approach the girl and ask her a clever question, one that females are naturally going to have an opinion about. Opener #1: "Quick question -- would you allow your boyfriend to go to a bachelor party if you knew there were going to be strippers there? Because my friend Jennifer is sort of freaking out about this right now." Opener #2: "Hey, help me settle a debate I'm having with my friends. How long do you need to be dating someone before you change your status on Facebook from "single" to "in a relationship?" These methods of approaching women are especially effective because they're based on what I call "relationship grey areas." Men and women tend to have their own ideas about what's allowed in a relationship, and what is unacceptable. Another example: is it "cheating" if a guy hangs out with his ex-girlfriend socially, without telling his current girlfriend? The bottom line is, when you are approaching women a good opener is going to make her WANT to respond. And if you're a confident, playful guy, this one always gets a fun reaction: "Do I look gay? Because this guy was TOTALLY hitting on me in the bathroom a second ago. Be honest, is it my shirt?" (Or, "is it the way my ass looks in these jeans?") I wouldn't classify those as pick up lines. But does this mean pick up lines are, by definition, a bad thing? In some situations, I actually opened the conversation by using one of those cheesy pick up lines -- and because I was able to transition into a fun conversation, I was able to get the girl into bed that night! I showed a sense of humor by "confessing" that I had used a corny line to try to pick her up. After delivering it, I followed up with "I know that TOTALLY sounded like a pick up line...but I want to talk to you for a second and I couldn't think of what else to say. My name's Dean..." Then from that stage, I used my Mack Tactics -- I asked a few "strategic" questions to get her in a fun mindset, and sharing information about herself...I used techniques like "Cold Reads" and "Hypotheticals"... and at all times, I stayed in control of the interaction and guided it down the correct path. The simple truth is, you can get away with using a laughable pick up line and actually make women laugh (in a good way). The key to making this work is understanding how to follow it with something clever that makes her want to talk to you. Or, you can always use this: "You're so beautiful that you made me forget my pickup line." (Women always find that one cute and funny!) However, the way this insight has “materialized” has led to several misconceptions that cause people to become frustrated with the whole idea. In this article, we’ll explore three of these misconceptions, their potential pitfalls, and a way to understand this insight in a new and empowering way. For those unfamiliar with The Law of Attraction, it is usually stated as some version of the idea that “like vibrations tend to attract each other.” This is often espoused as a Law of Nature, like the Law of Gravity, and it is interpreted to apply to how we can manifest what we want in life. For example, if we want to be, do, or have “such and such” we match our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs with that and it will appear in our lives. Let’s look at three myths related to that process. Three Myths About The Law of Attraction Myth #1: The Law of Attraction is a proven law of cause and effect that is measurable and testable like any law of physics. For example, it is proposed that, if you can imagine something, believe it is yours, and feel it as a present reality, that will cause it to appear in your life. There are many issues with that simple view of causality, but mostly, it is just oversimplified. It assumes that cause and effect is a linear process with only a few variables that are completely in your control. For example, that the results in your life are caused by your thoughts alone, or by your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and intentions, or some such small set of variables that you can master. What this simplified, linear view of cause and effect doesn’t take into account is the infinite wealth of variables involved in “what actually happens.” You can begin with what is going on inside you, with what is determining your “present energetic vibration.” You are a tremendously complex web of thoughts, feelings, beliefs, memories, and physical processes, most of which go on beneath your conscious awareness. These combine with an infinite set of variables in the world around you, including everything that is going on with everyone else, all other beings, and the whole universe. This infinitely complex set of variables combine to create what actually happens. Not only are you not in control of most of these variables, you are not even in the least bit aware of most of them. Fortunately, you don’t need to control all of this to have great life experiences. More on that in a moment. Myth #2: The Law of Attraction is a personal growth technique that you use to get what you want. First of all, The Law of Attraction is not a technique, it is meant as a statement of how life works. Nevertheless, many try to “use it” to create what they want. A simple version of this strategy says that, if you focus on something in the right way, you can be, do, or have it. Most often proponents of this idea encourage you to focus on the “end result that you desire.” Visualize and feel the things you want and the events you want to happen and they will appear in your life. Masses of people have tried this with limited success. A few claim miraculous results. My question is: Is focusing on “end results” a good strategy for living? In the sense that “mental rehearsal” is helpful, I would say “This could be a good technique.” When you imagine and feel yourself being, doing, or having something, it primes your neural circuits so that you are more likely to experience that in your life. In fact, you experience it in that moment in your imagination. We use this type of mental rehearsal all the time and it has proven effective. For example, it has been shown that imagining shooting free throws can make you a better free throw shooter in basketball. Many studies have documented the “mental rehearsal effect.” However, imagining processes and experiences is different from creating physical realities. In my experience, those who get hooked on imagining physical realities like new cars, houses, and jobs, often end up obsessing about what they think they want, getting real attached to a specific idea about it, and missing out on amazing opportunities that are right before their eyes. This strategy puts you in a mindset of seeking what you desire “outside yourself” in things, events, and other people. This may distract you from where the real power lies—inside you, in your inner state. This leads to a third myth. What happens when “bad things” happen to you and you attribute them to your lack of skill with using The Law of Attraction? Myth #3: When something bad happens to you, you caused it by your negative thinking, negative self-talk, negative feelings, or negative language. Therefore, be sure to never entertain anything negative. This myth can lead you to be quite paranoid about your inner state and wary of any negative event that crosses your inner landscape. This paranoia certainly does not raise your vibration so that you align with what you truly desire. In fact, it takes you in the other direction. Paranoia will not improve your inner state. Therefore, obsession with trying to “be perfect” at following the Law of Attraction, is, again, a poor strategy. The same complex causality idea applies here, too. Causality is much more complex than a few negative thoughts creating illness or bad circumstances. If there is truth in the idea of The Law of Attraction it is a truth about how your whole being interacts with the whole field around you. And, as we said above, this is a highly complex process that greatly exceeds our capacity for awareness and control. So, does the Law of Attraction really tell us anything that is helpful to our lives? If so, what might be useful in it? From my perspective, it is most helpful to remind us that “what we do on the inside shapes our experience.” Yes, our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs influence what happens, they have an effect on others and circumstances. This should not be overlooked. Yet, even more importantly, our inner state determines how we experience whatever happens—how it feels to us. This is what I call, The Law of Perception: that what you experience is the result of “where you’re coming from” at the moment. This statement describes, not so much the creation of specific results, but our power to have better experiences. You have a tremendous power to improve the quality of the experiences you have by what you do on the inside—by the thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and actions that you give energy to. Yes, this all influences what happens in life inside and around you, but not in a linear cause and effect way—not so you can definitively say “this thought” caused “that” to happen. However, you can shift your relationship to whatever happens by the way that you approach it. Not only is this much more in your control, but it is a much more effective strategy for health, happiness, and success. You can learn to relate to life in a peaceful, positive, loving way—no matter what happens. And, there are many great ways to cultivate your inner state. For example, if you adopt an attitude of being present, paying attention to and accepting what is happening, noticing and being grateful for the opportunities of the moment, and coming from a place of love in your heart, you’re going to have much better experiences. As a result of that, much better things do tend to happen in your life as well—even though you might not be in total control of exactly what those look like. And this is good too, because I believe there is a much Greater Power than my own little mind watching over this whole process. In my experience, Life is full of grace. At least, that’s where I’m choosing to come from. Enjoy your practice!

You do not need to artificially psyche yourself up or move at a speed that you are not comfortable with. You need to use the blocks of time you have more efficiently. This is usually called time management. It really is self discipline. It is the self discipline of following your schedule. Here are 5 steps to developing a schedule that you can actually follow: 1. Write down all your tasks on paper. Don’t organize them or prioritize them yet. Just make sure that every task you have to do is listed on paper and is in front of you before you go to step 2. 2. Pull out all the tasks that must be done on or by a specific date. For example, list everything that must be done today. And by “must” I mean “terrible things will happen if it is not done,” not “my boss or client will be upset.” For example, if I don’t file a lawsuit before the statute of limitations has expired, I could lose my license to practice law. 3. Of the remaining tasks, pull out all the tasks that must be done this week. These are most likely the “my boss or client will be angry” tasks. If these tasks are not completed this week, there is a tangible consequence. So put them in the proper relation to your other tasks. 4. Of the remaining tasks, pull out all the tasks that must be done in the next thirty days. There are most often research type of tasks or groundwork laying type of tasks, that eventually become the tasks listed in #1. They may be important to your boss or your client, but they simply do not need to be done today. 5. Schedule appointments with your tasks. Treat them with the same respect that you treat your boss and your clients. And force interruptions to treat them with the same respect. In addition to a more efficient time management system, you can also use stress management coaching to learn how you personally need to handle your personal stress. Because stress is personal. It is aimed straight at your heart, so your method of handling it needs to be your personal system. Using coaching may be the best way for you to develop this.
